The 76th Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Princess Protection Program’ premiered as TV’s No. 1 entertainment telecast of 2009 in Kids 6-11 (3.1 million) and Tweens 9-14 (3.2 million) and cable’s No. 1 scripted telecast in Total Viewers (8.5 million).
PPP towered over all time period competition on both broadcast and cable, virtually doubling runner up CBS in Total Viewers (8.5 million vs. 4.4 million), and also scoring No. 1 rank in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14.
It was Disney Channel’s No. 3 Original Movie of ALL TIME in Total Viewers (8.5 million), behind June ’08’s ‘Camp Rock‘ & August 07’s ‘High School Musical 2.’

BFFs Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato share a laugh as they give fans a sneak peek into their new TV movie, Princess Protection Program.
The duo chat about who is most like their character (Robert Adamson who plays crush Donnie), the fancy clothes and beating each other at bowling!
In the Disney Channel Original Movie, when a tiny country is invaded by a dictator, a young Princess Rosalinda (Lovato) is taken into custody by the Princess Protection Program. She is whisked away to rural Wisconsin where she must learn the ins and outs of behaving like a normal American teenager. In the process of adapting to her new life, Rosie gives her new friend and roommate, Carter (Gomez), a few lessons in how to act with royal dignity.

Princess Protection Program premieres Friday, June 26 @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.

Disney Channel's Summer of Stars - Friday,May 29th

Disney Channel's special summertime lineup, Summer of Stars, kicks off FRIDAY MAY 29, with a cavalcade of special event episodes, new double-feature movies and marathons of kids’ favorite series. Highlighting Disney Channel superstars Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, Summer of Stars celebrates the strong connection that kids age 6-14 have with the entire lineup of Disney Channel talent. Disney Channel.com, the #1 entertainment website for Kids 6-14, will also launch a new supersite, game or activity every Saturday to coincide with Summer of Stars.

Fridays nights, beginning Friday, May 29, will feature the winning series "The Suite Life on Deck," "Phineas and Ferb" and "Wizards of Waverly Place." Highlights include four new vampire-themed episodes guest starring Bridgit Mendler ("JONAS"), Anne Ramsay ("Dexter") and JD Cullum ("Leatherheads"), plus the upcoming "Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana," a 90-minute event that brings three hit series together for one star-filled story aboard the S.S. Tipton.
